Flint Community Schools Health Services Department is dedicated to promoting the overall well-being of scholars and fostering academic success. The department offers a range of services and programs designed to address the health needs of the whole child, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. These services include health assessments and evaluations, confidential health guidance, and personalized plans to eliminate barriers to learning.

The department provides guidance on first aid and emergency procedures, establishing effective communication channels among home, school, healthcare providers, and community agencies. Additionally, there is a focus on in-service education for school personnel, covering CPR, first aid, and medication dispensing. Staff members receive guidance on compliance with health laws to prevent and control health problems, accidents, and injuries, contributing to the maintenance of a healthy school environment.

FCS Health Services Department takes an active role in district leadership, contributing to the Sex Education Advisory Committee. Moreover, the department offers assistance to health services staff in interpreting state, local, and district policies and procedures. This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment to the holistic health and academic success of every scholar within the Flint Community Schools.
